Tangy Red Pepper & Asparagus Salsa

Our own version of a versatile favourite, this tasty preserve features asparagus harvested earlier this season, apple cider vinegar we made at the farm, cayennes from our hoophouse, and local honey. We’re grateful for another fun collaboration with our friends at Rootham’s Gourmet Preserves in Guelph, who stepped us through this process and made it possible for us to preserve the harvest!

A bit of everything

Where to start. I tried this with tortilla chips and I like using salsa as a mixture with my scrambled eggs which I also did. Well at first there was a hint of sweetness then you were hit with some heat on the finish. This is the first salsa I had where you go from a sweet to a tangy hot finish. I paired it with Forest Garden when having the chips and it was delish!
