Reconnect to SIMPLE WONDERS.

Heartwood is a regenerative farm with fresh air, good soil, healthy plants and animals, and a lively kitchen table. You’re invited to the conversation!

Our Farm

We are the humble and careful stewards of a 42-acre farm, where we raise cows, pigs, chickens and bees, and grow apples, maple trees, and other fruit and nut trees. We have chosen the practice of Regenerative Farming for our land in an effort to maintain the healthiest soil, water systems, agriculture and livestock possible.

Experiences & Workshops

We like to say we’re in the business of transformation. We enliven and awaken people by showing them the connections between all the things that make up a good life: sunlight to plants, grass to meat, fruit to juice, sap to syrup, cider to conversation.

Our Ciders

Heartwood cider lineup

We make delicious small-batch craft ciders, using ingredients from our farm and local community – apples from our forest garden, maple syrup tapped from our own trees, and other fruits like currants and peaches for our signature flavours or seasonal offerings.

Our ciders are dry and off-dry, sweetened just the right amount with maple syrup from our own trees –sophisticated and a bit adventurous, but still accessible, like a craft cider should be. We make 3 signature flagship ciders, and a rotating list of seasonal or experimental ciders we affectionately call “The Crazies”.  Our ciders are gluten free.

Secrets of the Sugar Bush 2

Sat. Apr. 13th, 11am - 1pm.

This year’s gradual spring thaw makes for perfect maple syrup weather. Curious to know a bit more about the art and science of the sugar bush? Want to get your hands sticky learning the secrets of syrup making?

Join Val for an outdoor “lunch and learn” in the sugar shack. We’ll share a traditional sugar shack lunch (inspired by Val’s dad’s childhood memories) and send you home with some of the liquid gold. This workshop will be geared for adults with a penchant for getting their hands dirty.

Cost is $30 with a maximum of 10 people (includes lunch and syrup to take home).

Hangout for a glass of cider and conversation afterwards — our tasting room is open 1-5pm.

Erin's 10th Annual Eco-Film Fest

One of the coolest things going in our community is the annual Eco-Film Festival, now in its 10 year! All films are shown at the Erin Legion, and dates, times, and trailers can be found at the website. Please consider shaking off the winter chill and joining us for some thought-provoking documentaries! (Did we mention that Heartwood Cider is on pour during the film?)
